June’s Book: Behind the Lions
Our book for June is Behind the Lions: Playing Rugby for the British & Irish Lions by Stephen Jones, Tom English, Nick Cain and David Barnes.
The results were as follows in our poll: Behind the Lions 56%, Inverting the Pyramid 33%, Bobby’s Open 11%, sadly Days of Grace and Secretariat received no votes.
The famous Lions have already taken to the field beating Barbarians 59-8 in Hong Kong Stadium, a great start no doubt before the real test comes… Australia.
The big dates to put in the diary are remember are 22nd June, 29th June and the 6th July. Plenty of time to read up on the history of those famous Lions!

He is the recipient of the Rugby Book of the Year award for his novel The Grudge. Nick Cain is a rugby columnist for the Sunday Times and the chief writer for the Rugby Paper. He is the editor of Rugby World magazine and the coauthor of The Lions Diary and Rugby Union for Dummies. David Barnes is a freelance journalist who covers rugby for various newspapers. He is the coauthor of Behind the Thistle: Playing Rugby for Scotland and Centre of Excellence.
